Kathy
LCSW,CASAC- Founder, Executive & Clinical Director
My journey into mental health and wellness began long before I became a therapist. Growing up with a narcissistic parent in a household filled with challenges, and navigating the complexities of being a young teen of immigrant parents, I experienced many emotional struggles during my teenage years.
As a young adolescent, I struggled to express myself in a way that felt authentic to who I was. I was deeply emotional but wasn’t allowed to voice those feelings, which made it difficult to navigate life and communicate my emotions effectively. This lack of expression led to frustration, anger, and a persistent sense of being misunderstood. I often felt stuck or unseen, overthinking and worrying about the future while struggling to stay in the present.
For years, I wrestled with the “what-ifs” of life, unable to share my inner world with friends and family. My mindset was rooted in fear and self doubt, causing me to miss opportunities and at points feel stagnant in my life.
It wasn’t until I allowed myself to acknowledge this inner discomfort and seek professional help that things began to shift. At first, I was deeply skeptical about therapy. The idea of opening up to a stranger felt intimidating—how could anyone understand me when I struggled to understand myself? But as I slowly embraced the process, I developed a strong relationship with my therapist and began to feel truly heard. Therapy became a transformative experience, giving me the tools to understand and articulate my emotions, as well as deeper insights into how my upbringing and life experiences had shaped who I am today. Through this process, I not only felt seen by my therapist, but I also began to see myself in a new light.
Healing myself from the complex trauma I carried inspired me to devote my life to helping others. I realized that the process of healing could be freeing, and I wanted to offer others the same opportunity to transform their lives. I chose to pursue a career in mental health counseling, and my own healing journey became the driving force behind my commitment to helping others do the same.
As my practice grew, I felt compelled to expand my impact, which led me to transition from a solo practice to a group practice. I hand-pick each therapist who joins my team, ensuring they align with our shared values and passion for helping others heal. Our group practice is different because we focus on treating the core issues of depression, anxiety, and maternal mental health. We are committed to providing the highest quality supervision and training for our therapists, enabling them to excel in their work. We understand that the process of seeking therapy can be daunting, which is why we make the intake process as smooth as possible. We educate clients on how insurance works and offer flexible options for those who may not be able to afford our full session rate, ensuring therapy remains accessible. Our sessions are all virtual and therapist have morning and night availability, making therapy sessions more accessible.
There will inevitably be challenges along the way, but our team is here to help you navigate them. Together, we will overcome any obstacles that arise, and we are dedicated to supporting each client on their path to healing and self-discovery. Our goal is to meet my clients where they are, nurture a strong therapeutic relationship, and guide them toward living an authentic, fulfilling life. Just as I experienced, therapy can be the key to breaking free from old patterns and finding true emotional freedom to life truly mindfully & fulfilled.
